Concrete Product Warranty
General Overview.
As concrete is a natural product, it needs to be looked after carefully and appropriately. All of our pieces are hand-sanded and then sealed four times, to the highest standard possible with the best sealer available before leaving our workshop (unless it has been sealed in situ). This penetrating sealer creates a buffer and allows for a certain amount of time to clean up - however, as with any porous stone, no sealer is 100% bullet proof and “wipe as you go” is the recommended method!
Concrete pieces will, particularly in high traffic areas - naturally age and develop a patina/texture over time, which we consider highly desirable. Whilst concrete is an extremely robust material and you needn’t be too precious - we urge you to use common sense, as you would with any other type of bench top.
Check-list.
Clean up spills immediately (Especially wine, coffee, bleach, curry paste, acids (ie; citrus, vinegar) chemicals, toothpaste, make-up)
Clean spills using a sponge or soft, non-abrasive cloth (ie; micro-fibre) to avoid scratching the sealant’s surface
Avoid using strong detergents, grout/tile cleaner, corrosive liquids, bleach, heavy duty powders, lemon etc to clean.
Avoid scourers and other abrasive cleaning pads or vigorous scrubbing
Always using a chopping board for food prep (as with all bench tops) to avoid damaging or scratching the sealant’s surface
Avoid applying excessive heat directly to the surface of the concrete
Always use a trivet for hot pots and pans, slow-cookers etc, and never leave hot candles, curling wands or straighteners directly on benches
Use placemats and coasters for extra protection between hot objects, and use mats/table runners for vases/centre pieces/plant pots
Don’t leave a concrete basin filled up with water for more than 1 hour
Avoid sitting/standing/applying excessive force on a bench top or vanity
Not covered under our 2-year Manufacturer’s Warranty.
Water damage caused by chips, scratches, chipping, caulking removal, no caulking or incorrect caulking methods performed by a 3rd party
Compromised concrete sink performance due to incorrect; installation methods (please refer to our instruction sheet carefully), silicon application, waste installation methods
Damage caused by the use of abrasive cleaning products or cloths as outlined above
Damage caused by contact with excessive heat or sharp kitchen utensils (as outlined above)
Fading caused by sunlight or other man-made light sources
(our sealant has an excellent integrated UV protectant, however this may occur over time)Scratching/cracks caused by accidental contact with objects/human interaction
Damage caused by 3rd party trades when installing surfaces or fixtures whilst the concrete is in place (ie; plumbing, tiles, fireplaces, cabinetry etc)
Cracks caused by excessive heat due to installation of fireplaces that do not have a substantial in-built base underneath the firebox and an additional protective layer underneath the fireplace for added heat protection (ie; 50mm Skamotec incased in steel or whatever is recommended). It is the duty of the owner and fireplace supplier to ensure a concrete hearth is appropriate for the fireplace they have chosen and that appropriate measures are taken to ensure the protection of the concrete.
Heat/fire damage on hearths due to embers/coals being left unattended
Water or surface damage caused by use of tapware within 2 weeks of pieces being sealed
Damage caused when unpacking and/or when being installed by a 3rd party trade
